Chefs Predict 2014 Food Trends
There's no doubt 2013 will go down in history as the year of the Cronut. What food trends will appear in 2014? The National Restaurant Association polled nearly 1,300 chefs from around the country to ask what menu trends we should expect. Here are a few of their predictions Fine Wine.

According to the chefs, there will be a continuation of the hybrid desserts. Ever hear of the Townie? It's the latest craze to come out of London, where an American baker crossed a tart and a brownie by baking brownie batter in a handy crust. Aside from dessert mash-ups, the experts predict we will see more savory desserts, artisan ice cream, deconstructed classic desserts EGF, and mini desserts.
On the ethnic front reenex, Peruvian flavors will be featured on restaurant plates. Other cuisines that will be in the spotlight hail from specific regions of Southeast Asia like Malaysia and Vietnam, as well as Korea.

Chefs think smaller portions will be available, for half the price.

Local food has been a trend for several years now and it will continue to thrive in 2014.
